Discover Colorado’s Iconic Music Venue
As a Texan from the city of Austin, often dubbed the Live Music Capital of the World, I held a certain pride in our eclectic music scene. However, my first visit to Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre to see Hippie Sabotage turned out to be an eye-opening experience—a musical adventure that surpassed all my expectations.
Leaving the flatlands of Texas behind, I embarked on a journey to the majestic mountains of Colorado, eager to explore the intersection of nature and music that Red Rocks promised.
Having the opportunity on a Wednesday evening after work to hop on the road and head to a place that many fly across the country to experience is truly something to appreciate. We booked a Black Label and were able to ride with just our group directly to Red Rocks. The anticipation built with each twist and turn of the mountain road, until finally, we arrived at the foot of those iconic red rocks.
Stepping into the amphitheater, I’m immediately struck by the palpable energy pulsing through the crowd—an eclectic mix of music lovers from all walks of life, united by a shared passion for live performances.
But before diving into the sea of eager concertgoers, there’s a ritual to uphold—grabbing a personal pizza and an ice-cold beverage to fuel the night ahead. It was a tradition as sacred as the music itself, a moment of calm before the storm of sound and spectacle. Then walking through the crowd to find a spot next to people who by the end of the night will be shouting lyrics to you.
Hippie Sabotage, a band whose music had been the soundtrack to countless memories back in Austin. A band I would see at a small dive bar in Austin every year, Hippie Sabotage’s music had woven itself into the fabric of my fondest memories. Their raw energy and infectious beats provided the soundtrack to countless nights of festivities and camaraderie back home.
Yet, as I stood amidst the towering red rocks of Colorado, their familiar tunes took on a new life, echoing off the natural amphitheater with intensity. Surrounded by friends who knew every word and friends who didn’t but danced with reckless abandon, Red Rocks has the power to transcend boundaries and forge connections.
And then there’s the sunsets—oh, the sunsets! As the sky transformed into a canvas of fiery hues, casting a warm glow over the amphitheater, time seemed to stand still. In those moments of quiet reflection, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the euphoria of live music, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the serendipitous journey that had brought me here.
Red Rocks isn’t just a venue; it’s a cathedral of sound and light, a sacred space where music and nature converged in perfect harmony. And as I stood there, in the magic of the moment, I knew that this was a journey I would have the luxury of experiencing time and time again.
Our Black Label ride helped us enjoy the Red Rocks experience even more, as we didn’t have to worry about who would drive or how many of our friends could join in on the concert. Our chauffeur was on time and ensured sure we got to Red Rocks with plenty of time to get food and drinks before the first set.
Black Label’s 5 or 14 passenger vehicle fleet makes getting to Red Rocks easy for groups of all sizes. Book your Black Label transportation, and ride to the concert, pre-party dinner, afterparty, or wherever the night may take you!
